We had a great night at Wolf Atelier. The food was exceptional as were the wines. Great service and explanation of each dish. Highly recommend and will definitely come back again.

Het eten (restaurantweek menu) was uitstekend. Een lekker voorgerecht (ceviche), hoofd (entrecote), nagerecht 1 (heerlijke chocolademousse) en nagerecht 2. Boven verwachting gegeten. Had een mooi uitzicht op de open keuken waar hard gewerkt werd.

Het eten (restaurantweek menu) was uitstekend. Een lekker voorgerecht (ceviche), hoofd (entrecote), nagerecht 1 (heerlijke chocolademousse) en nagerecht 2. Boven verwachting gegeten. Had een mooi uitzicht op de open keuken waar hard gewerkt werd.
Ook de entourage/sfeer in het restaurant was top. Mooi uitzicht over amsterdam, vanuit een ander perspectief.

Het enige nadeel vond ik de service. Erg gehaast en zéér onduidelijk: bij gerechten zaten verschillende kleine sausjes of groentes. Ik kan me echter alleen flarden van de toelichting herinneren. Voordat ik kon vragen om het te herhalen was de ober reeds vertrokken. Dit herhaalde zich eigenlijk bij elke gang. ook het weghalen van het lege glas van mijn vriendin na het dessert, terwijl ik nog een een slokje wijn had vond ik erg apart.

Al met al heerlijk gegeten en genoten van een avondje uit. Het atelier ziet er prachtig uit. Alleen (website Wolf atelier): "Werkelijk alles moet kloppen. Niet alleen het eten en de wijn, ook de ambiance, de muziek, de bediening en de cocktails die elk een eigen verhaal vertellen."..... juist de bediening zorgde ervoor dat ik hier helaas niet snel terug zou gaan.

I came across this place years ago when it was featured on a travel channel when I was living in Asia, for its cool concept as Open. I am fortunate to have seen recommended on tele across the other side of the globe and now being able to experience it.

We had a 5 course meal that included a pre-starter and a pre-dessert. The food was delicious and artfully presented. We had hamachi starter with mousse and young beans of the beansprouts and that was a winner. The presentation of the flavours of this really hit the palate on the right spots.

The wine recommendation by the waitress to match our meal was a good match too. We had a young Indo-Dutch waitress who kept her eyes comfortably on her the guests and she was attentive. The decor and ambience of the the place is contemporary and not for those searching for a cosy nest to dine. It was a lovely experience and I would return again for another experience.

Chef Michael Wolf opens Wolf Studio


The highly motivated 31-year-old chef cook Michael Wolf (Oud Sluis ***, Vila Joya ** and Envy) will open officially on June 21, 2015 Atelier Wolf. He does this in a large glass area which rests on a railway bridge dating from 1920, located right next to Central Station of Amsterdam.


Why a 'Atelier'? Michael Wolf will challenge himself every day to create innovative dishes. He strives to surprise his guests again and again, to deliver the optimal dining experience.


Wolf Atelier is light and spacious. The monumental railway bridge has an industrial design and is equipped with 80 high glass windows. This workshop offers a 360 degree view of Amsterdam. Due to the large amount of plants and earth tones has something of an urban garden. The open kitchen and small chef's table ensures that Michael Wolf is in continuous contact with his guests.


The menu contains two main sections. In the 'Gallery' is a selection of Michael Wolf's current signature dishes such as lacquered pork belly with fried langoustines, carrot cream and a sauce of spices. " In the 'Atelier' he experiments, innovates and tests dishes out. After feedback from guests the best dishes remain. These will then be included in the "Gallery".


Michael Wolf; "This workshop is tough and nice metropolitan, the perfect setting to look for perfection. Really everything must be right. Not only is the food and wine, including the ambiance, the music, the service and the cocktails, each telling its own story. I cannot judge whether I have ask too much of myself and my team. All I know is that I dreamed of this moment since I was fifteen to and cannot wait to get started!
