Sea Palace may truly consider itself a Chinese speciality restaurant. Founded in 1984, it is the first floating restaurant in Europe. This culinary palace with the typical chinese imperial design is suiteble for romantic diner or group dinner with friends or family. It has seats divided over three floors.
At the waterside, you will have an excellent view overlooking the city of Amsterdam. We are located just 5 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station.
We had a great evening at the Se Palace. The food was very good I do not eat MSG- the waiiter was so helpful in ensuring I did not have MSG in my food. He was also really professional and attentive in suggesting food. I cannot fault the service , it was excellent. When I return to Amsterdan I will definitely go back to the Sea Palace.
Sfeer bijzonder aangenaam.
I will come again with my fiancee...!
4 of us dined there on Sat 23rd of Feb whilst spending a weekend in Amsterdam from Dublin. Myself and my husband had eaten there a few times before. The meal was perfect, the food was so hot, tasty and very fresh. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so inviting. The staff were so attentive and such fun. All in all the evening was brilliant. I would highly recommend a visit.
I enjoyed the atmosphere ! It was like another country, but the food was inegual : some dishes were excellent, others were correct.
14 of us went to the Sea Palace on the 25th March 2012 at the end of the meal none of us had a good word for the restaurant or staff they were rude, arrogant and treated us like battery chickens they wanted us in as quick as possible and out as soon as we finished the meal no courteous words just shoving and pushing when putting items on the table or taking them away. While we were having the first course of soup they started taking the dishes away before people had finished. For the main course they didn't provide enough of the meat on scewers so two of our party went without because they wouldn't bring any more food out. The desert was a waste of time a small scoop of ice crean with a small slice of peach and half a battered pineapple ring. At the end of the meal the staff stood watching and waiting for us to go which made us feel uncomfortable. For 30 euros ahead which excluded drinks it proved a rip off.
Booked for the restaurant week but ended up getting the normal menu at euros 30 per person as it was a more exciting menu.
The starter was minimalthough - one springroll and one fried ravioli. Taste was OK nothing special. Main course consisted of three dishes - a chicken dish with loads of onions (average but the chicken was cooked very well), beef with broccoli in a dark sauce (good the meat was tender) and duck with paksoy and spring onions (dry dish which was excellent).
The service was very good, the location is fabulous and the setting is out of the ordinary. You pay more for this restaurant but the food is also much better. We will go back.
