MOES is a bar and restaurant in the basement underneath De Appel arts center in Amsterdam.
Taste and quality go hand in hand with care for people, animals and the environment. Seasonal, local products are the basis of the international menu. Veggies are important to us. Once a month, the menu is completely without fish or meat. MOES makes a modest contribution to reducing the distance from farm to fork by growing it’s own herbs in the garden. At Moes, we use mainly products from the region that are in season, supplemented with authentic ingredients from other countries.
Lunch can be warm or cold, for a large or small appetite. Fancy a fresh salad, hearty soup or a light pasta in the afternoon? A sandwich or eggs? From cocktail hour, we serve a daily changing range of Appletizers: little surprising snacks that you can pick yourself from the bar. In the evening there is a menu with a limited number of frequently changing dishes.
Like the artists at De Appel, the cooks in the kitchen of MOES experiment as well with presentation and combinations. Culinary and artistic research go hand in hand. Do you want to know what those artists themselves prefer to eat? It’s also on the menu, come and have a taste.
