Our restaurant Café Americain as you see her today was opened in 1902.

The Tiffany lamps, the murals featuring Shakespeare’s Midsummer night’s dreams

and the reading tables are all original characteristics of the Café Americain.

For over a hundred years the Café Americain has been and still is a place to meet for writers, musicians, actors and other artist and above all for the local population and international visitors. The Café Americain is the only Art Deco styled restaurant in Amsterdam.

We welcome you as our guest in the Café Americain from 7.00 a.m. until 11.30 p.m. for breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. Furthermore we offer you our famous Jazz brunch on Sunday’s. We kindly request you to make reservations for the Jazz brunch and the high tea at least two days in advance. During the months July and August we will not serve our high tea or Jazz Brunch.
